Ring Topology

Network with ring topology is similar to a bus topology, but the edges are interconnected to form a circle.
Ring topology connects the nodes on the network with a circle in a way each node is connected to the next node.
Last node is connected to the first node. Each node checks the data to be transmitted over the network. If the data (called a token) is not addressed in the data node then moves to the next node.

The benefit of using ring topology:
a. Save the cable, to build a network with this topology is less expensive when compared with the star topology.
b. Can avoid collisions of data files that are sent as data flows in one direction so that the data transmitted to the next will be doneafter the first shipment is complete.
c. Easy to build it.
d. All computers on the network have the same status.

Disadvantages of using a ring topology:
a. Sensitive to errors.
b. Network development is more rigid, when the cable disconnected then all the computers can not be used
